The Quebec Port Authority has presented its new summer recreation and tourism project. La Cale (the hold) is a family friendly place to enjoy the summer.
After being the subject of a public consultation through the port's "Je Participe" citizen participation platform, the La Cale project brings together a number of suggestions made by citizens, representatives of the Vieux-Québec, Cap Blanc and Parliament Hill neighbourhoods, as well as from members of the Port-Community Cohabitation Committee.
The public area will offer workspaces with a river view, an affordable restaurant service, shaded areas, urban furniture, and water basins.
Scheduled to open in June, the new family site will add to the recreational and tourism offerings in the Louise Basin and Pointe-à-Carcy sector, where the Oasis swimming area and its harbour bath are also located.
