On World Water Day, Canada's Minister of Environment and Climate Change Steven Guilbeault announced more than $800,000 in funding for projects dedicated to enhancing the St. Lawrence River’s water quality.
Under the Community Interaction Program, the ZIP Committee of Seigneuries will receive $200,000 to address the common water reed at Île-Lebel in Repentigny. The ZIP Committee of Haut-Saint-Laurent will receive $97,000 for restoration and revegetation efforts at L'Île-Perrot. The Abenaki Council of Odanak will benefit from $75,000 to construct a stream and enhance habitat for yellow perch.
