MSRC collaborates on safe wind turbine transport

German ship owner Briese Schiffahrts GmbH & Co turned recently to the Maritime Simulation and Resource Centre (MSRC) for assistance in developing a navigation model for a new vessel designed specifically for transporting wind turbines.

MSRC used its advanced simulation tools to train Briese Schiffahrts’ captains and officers to navigate the specific challenges of the St. Lawrence Seaway with the support of pilots from the Great Lakes Pilotage Authority (GLPA).

These critical exercises successfully validated the vessel’s maneuverability in simulated Seaway and Great Lakes conditions, further confirming MSRC’s expertise in managing complex and environmentally impactful maritime projects.
