Major environment award for the Port of Montreal

The Montreal Port Authority was honoured June 14th by the Association québécoise des transports (AQTr) with a grand prize for transportation excellence in recognition of it electrical shorepower initiative. The port authority received the Environment prize for improving dockside facilities through electrification to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2,800 tonnes annually. AQTr’s Environment prize showcases an original, coherent, reproducible environment project that substantially reduces transportation’s environmental impacts in a demonstrable way through efficiency measurement tools as part of a larger sustainable development vision.

The Montreal Port Authority has also published its annual report, which includes a summary of its sustainable development activities.
