Saguenay is the first city in Eastern Canada to achieve this distinction. Promotion Saguenay made the announcement in August. This certification is awarded to destinations that demonstrate exemplary management in sustainable development aligned with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The stopover operations in the Saguenay suburb of LaBaie stand out for their sustainable practices, surpassing other international stopover docks in North America.
It was in 2006 that the Port of Saguenay welcomed the first international cruise ships to drop anchor in the Baie des Ha! Ha! For international visitors, the adventure begins on the Bagotville wharf and in the heart of the cruise terminal, infrastructures inaugurated in 2009 and today world-renowned.
