A symbol of spring’s return, the number of swallows has been in sharp decline since the 1970s. Some species have had their population drop by 80% in Canada. That’s why Nature Quebec, a Green Marine supporter, has created fact sheets to help identify four types of swallows in in the province, along with tips on how to help them. The four species are the bank swallow, the tree swallow, the American cliff swallow, and the barn swallow.
