Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure™ Platform won The Most Efficient Ship Solution Award at the International Green Shipping & Maritime Technology Summit held in Athens, Greece, this past November.
The summit covers shipping, shipbuilding, and green maritime technology to increase vessel efficiencies and decrease pollution at sea. It gathered 200 key maritime experts and companies from around the globe that have significant influence within the industry.
Schneider’s awarded solution is a full EcoStruxure offer: Schneider Electric’s IoT-enabled digital architecture, which is organized around three core layers of technology –Connected Products, Edge Control, Analytics and Services – for implementation aboard cruise ship and ferries. It delivers predictive analytics to address issues inside electrical distribution equipment to mitigate the risk of electrical failure and to optimize maintenance.
Schneider Electric also recently completed the implementation of a shorepower connection for the Holland America Cruise Ship Veendam at the new Alexandra Cruise Terminal in Old Montreal. It is estimated the solution will eliminate upwards of 2,800 tonnes of greenhouse gases annually.
