WWF-Canada has reassessed its resources, operations and activities as part of a new 10-year concerted effort to achieve greater sustainability of wildlife populations and healthier ecosystems for everyone. The refocus follows its flagship publication of The Living Planet Report Canada (LPRC) 2020.
The research indicates that populations of Canadian species assessed at risk across the country have plummeted by an average of 59% since 1970. Species deemed globally at risk have had their numbers diminish by an average of 42%.
WWF-Canada is calling upon all sectors of Canadian society to step up their environmental efforts as the next decade will be critical in reversing catastrophic wildlife loss and climate breakdown.
