The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) and Port Everglades – both participants in the Green Marine environmental certification program – are among Inbound Logistics Magazine’s 75 Green Supply Chain Partners.
NWSA was recognized for various environmental initiatives. These include reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, using alternative fuels and energy sources, operating a reuse/recycling program, having sustainable packaging and materials, implementing energy-efficient lighting, and developing habitat.
Port Everglades has been recognized for its efforts to protect manatees and mangroves within its territory, reduce energy consumption, implement a reuse/recycling program, using alternative fuels or energy sources and reducing its greenhouse gas emissions.
The 75 organizations are selected by the editors of Inbound Logistics and represent various trade sectors, including ports, trucking companies, railroads, shipping lines, freight forwarders and air cargo carriers. These companies are recognized for going above and beyond to help shippers maintain sustainable, eco-friendly supply chain operations.
