The Port of Prince Rupert, the Port of Vancouver, B.C., and bulk-handling terminal in Prince Rupert,Trigon, are now all part of the North Pacific Green Corridor Consortium (NPGCC). The collaborative effort involving carriers, terminals and ports from North America, Asia and Europe aims to decarbonize the supply chain between North America and Asia.
Its proactive approach prioritizes optimizing energy efficiencies to achieve significant short term reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. It is also diligently assessing options for cleaner running propulsion systems and producing, storing and bunkering lower-carbon fuels for use by the corridor’s members and others.
The NPGCC is part of a broader international movement to promote sustainable shipping practices and reduce emissions in transporting goods.
