The recently launched Getting to Zero 2030 Coalition has the Port of Vancouver, a Green Marine participant, as its newest member. The coalition is spearheading the shipping industry’s decarbonization through an alliance of approximately 70 public and private organizations aiming to have commercially viable zero-emission vessels powered by zero-emission energy sources operating along deep-sea trade routes by 2030. Its creation of an industry roadmap will engage stakeholders to identify technologies, investments and timelines for decarbonization of energy sources and associated infrastructure. The Getting to Zero Coalition 2030 is a partnership initially formed by the Global Maritime Forum, the Friends of Ocean Action, and the World Economic Forum.
