The Port of Stockton leads coastal clean-up efforts

On Saturday, September 23, 2023, the Port of Stockton played a leading role in the International Coastal Clean-up Day. A dedicated group of volunteers removed several tons of debris from the Delta waterways.

The Port of Stockton actively served as a site captain for the San Joaquin County Coastal Clean-up event, where volunteers managed to collect an impressive 15,000 pounds of litter from the Delta waterways. Alongside the Port staff and their families, participants included Port Commission members, the Port Director, members of the Environmental Justice Coalition for Water, and Port tenants.

Throughout the year, the Port hosts multiple clean-up events as part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining cleanliness in the Port and its surrounding areas, ensuring a pristine environment for all. These events also serve as an excellent opportunity to inspire local youth to develop a keen interest in environmental conservation.
