At the Port of San Diego, the board of port commissioners has award a $4.3-million contract to 3-D Enterprises to construct the port’s Sweetwater Bicycle Path and Promenade project. The company based in San Diego is set to begin work in August.
The port has also approved a pilot project by a Blue Economy incubator company to test a new design in concrete tide pools. ECOncrete Inc. is aiming to create seawall, breakwater, pier and other marine infrastructure in a way that minimizes concrete’s environmental impact while facilitating underwater life.
