On June 10, 2021, the Port of Montreal and Greenfield Global, which specializes in the production of low-carbon transportation fuels in the province of Quebec, signed an agreement to collaborate on the development of clean energy solutions in response to maritime industry’s transition towards decarbonization.
The partnership aims to combine the expertise of both entities to encourage the energy transition and diversify the availability of environmentally responsible energy alternatives. The collaboration will facilitate the identification, design and implementation of greener innovative energy solutions, most notably hydrogen, ethanol and methanol. The development and implementation project will be conducted through a working committee and will specifically relate to the activities and interests of the Montreal Port Authority, its partners and the maritime industry.
