The Port of Bordeaux joins Green Marine Europe

The Port of Bordeaux manages the various port sites within the Gironde Estuary, including the creation, management and maintenance of port structures.

The navigation channel, which is a vital element for an estuary port, connects port terminals located up to 100 kilometres (62 miles) inland with the high seas.

Disturbed by the sediments arriving from the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, the nautical capacities of the navigation channel and port structures are maintained by continual dredging operations. The Port of Bordeaux is currently participating as a ship owner within the Green Marine Europe program with two of its dredging vessels.
