We are pleased to announce that Véronique Nolet is now a full-time member of the Green Marine team! Véronique was already acting as Green Marine Project Manager – Marine Habitat under an agreement with Transport Canada to research the issues related to underwater noise. She has been a marine biologist since graduating from the Université du Québec à Rimouski 10 years ago. Prior to joining Green Marine, she primarily worked for the not-for-profit Marine Mammal Observation Network and played a leading role in producing A Mariner’s Guide to Whales in the Northwest Atlantic, an educational and awareness tool developed in collaboration with the Shipping Federation of Canada and Dalhousie University. She will continue to coordinate projects related to underwater noise and to ship and whale collision risks, such as the development of two new performance indicators. However, her role has been expanded to include her involvement along with Françoise Quintus and Eleanor Kirtley in the Green Marine program’s revision and development. You can reach Véronique by email at veronique.nolet@green-marine.org or by phone at 418-649-6004 ext. 303.
