Sustainable port cities: applications open for AIVP Prize Antoine Rufenacht

The International Association of Ports and Cities (AIVP) has officially launched the call for applications for the 2026 edition of the AIVP Prize Antoine Rufenacht. The prize recognizes forward-looking port-city redevelopment initiatives that strengthen ties between urban communities and their ports through sustainable design and environmental stewardship.

Applications can be made until July 31, 2026, by port authorities and local or regional governments that have realized a development project…

  • located within a port-city interface or on a former port site
  • has been completed within the last three years
  • includes a global development strategy for the port city and its ecosystem
  • and aligns with the AIVP’s Agenda 2030sustainable development goals.

The AIVP Prize Antoine Rufenacht highlights development projects that advance essential sustainability goals, such as green energy innovation, biodiversity preservation, and adaptation to climate change.
