With the publication of its second ESG (environmental, social, and governance) report, QSL demonstrates that sustainability is built step by step through concrete and measurable actions. The document highlights the progress achieved in 2024, while outlining the commitments that will guide the organization’s next steps.
The report showcases the actions undertaken last year across the four pillars of QSL’s strategy: reimagined workforce and prevention, climate change and environment, community engagement, and service quality. It outlines the practical initiatives that result in significant measurable outcomes, such as organizing more than 10,000 hours of training, cleaning up the riverbanks in Belledune, Quebec, and Hamilton, Ontario, and delivering 775 energy-efficient railcars for the BART transit system in California.
Some of the 2024 highlights in the environmental and community realms include:
In its 2024 report, QSL also specify clear targets for 2025: ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications at four additional sites, certification of a new Canadian terminal under the Green Marine program, and continued efforts to reduce voluntary turnover rates in Canada and the United States. These commitments reflect QSL’s long-term vision whereby innovation goes hand in hand with responsibility.
