Port of Montreal asks public to take part in designing its future

March 16, 2022

The Montreal Port Authority is embarking on a participatory process to involve the public in contributing forward-thinking ideas for the Port of Montreal.

Community members are invited to express their views on four major themes to define the port of tomorrow, specifically: the environment, the economy, innovation, and society. Discussion forums are being organized on each theme. The Montreal Port Authority is seeking to draw on the ideas, aspirations and visions of citizens and businesses interested in the Port of Montreal to guide its strategic planning going forward to 2030.

The call for public input is a first in the ports’ history and part of the movement launched by the International Association of Cities and Ports (IACP), a Green Marine association member. The IACP has set 10 goals for 2030 based on the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Registration to participate continues until May 2nd at https://en.portmtl2030.com/
