The Port of Hueneme continues to show its commitment to environmental stewardship by unveiling two new electric vehicle charging stations that have been made available to the public. The ready-to-use infrastructure is in fulfilment of the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District’s (VCAPCD) Air Quality Management Plan and the port’s environmental framework.
The new stations were funded in part through a VCAPCD Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Program grant. “ We look forward to continuing to make meaningful improvements that build upon existing projects such as shoreside power, battery power storage, and zero/near zero emission vehicles on port property,” said Kristin Decas, the port’s CEO and director. Each station has the capability to charge two vehicles at once.
