The Port of Corpus Christi is now the fourth North American port to join the SEA-LNG multi-sector industry coalition.
SEA-LNG works with its members to demonstrate that LNG is the only commercially viable and scalable alternative to oil-based fuels in the shipping industry to meet both competitiveness and environmental challenges.
One of the U.S. leading energy ports, the Port of Corpus Christi is also the first port located on the strategic, energy-rich Gulf of Mexico to participate in SEA-LNG.
The Port of Corpus Christi’s decision to join SEA-LNG is a part of its commitment to environmental stewardship. The Port purchases 100% of its power from renewable sources, is upgrading its vehicle fleet to electric and hybrid technology, and is creating a technological advancement program to promote innovative solutions for emissions control and decarbonisation.
It joins three other Green Marine members already in the SEA-LNG coalition, namely DNV GL, Lloyd’s Register and Wärtsilä.
