Port Canaveral recognized for its stellar performance

December 3, 2025

Cruise Critic named Port Canaveral the Best North American Homeport during its 17th annual Best in Cruise Awards announcements Dec. 3rd based on expert assessments and passenger feedback. The recognition came as Port Canaveral also earned the distinction of being the world’s busiest cruise port in fiscal year 2025, with more than 8.6 million revenue passenger movements and a 13% rise in traffic compared to the previous year.

The port’s achievements reflect its sustained efforts to enhance its facilities, services and sustainability. Through Port Canaveral Advantage, a five-year $912-million capital improvement plan, the port is expanding terminals, planning a seventh cruise terminal campus, adding parking capacity, and deploying new technology to improve operational efficiency.

As a certified Green Marine participant, the port is supporting the greater sustainability of its operations with specific environmental measures, such as stormwater management, habitat protection, and emissions reduction through LNG bunkering.

The port is currently homeport to 18 ships operated by seven cruise brands, supporting more than 1,000 cruise sailings annually.
