Port Canaveral commemorates longstanding Carnival partnership

June 7, 2025

To celebrate 35 years of collaboration, Green Marine participant Port Canaveral hosted a commemorative event on June 7th aboard Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras. The event took place at Cruise Terminal 3, which was built to accommodate the cruise line’s Excel Class vessel that is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Carnival has a major presence at Port Canaveral with 300 annual voyages involving some 2.4 million passenger movements.

For the occasion, the Canaveral Port Authority Board of Commissioners presented Carnival with a formal proclamation recognizing its long-standing contribution to the region’s development.

Carnival used the celebration to highlight its next phase of investment at the port, which will lead to the arrival of the Carnival Festivale in 2027. The Excel Class ship will be the fourth in Carnival’s LNG-powered series to operate from the port.

In a gesture aligned with the anniversary and World Ocean Day weekend, the cruise line also donated a hybrid truck to Keep Brevard Beautiful, a key environmental non-profit and a longstanding partner of Port Canaveral. The vehicle will help the non-profit’s environmental outreach and cleanup initiatives throughout the port community.
