Ocean Wise enhances maritime alerts through international system integration

Ocean Wise has announced a major international expansion of its Whale Report Alert System through a full integration of this real-time warning system into Trelleborg Marine and Infrastructure’s SafePilot Pro navigation software, used by marine pilots worldwide.

Launched in July 2025, the Whale Report tool unified the former WhaleReport app and the Whale Report Alert System, providing a centralized platform for reporting and receiving real-time alerts. With data sourced from users, partner organizations, and automated detection technologies, WRAS now streams alerts directly into professional navigation tools.

The first international implementation is underway through pilots in northwestern Australia, one of the nation’s busiest export regions and a key migration route for humpback whales. For Ocean Wise, this advance supports rapid decision-making to avoid marine mammals, while Trelleborg highlights its commitment to balancing operational performance with environmental responsibility.

Through this integration, WRAS technology marks another step toward broader international adoption in support of more sustainable navigation.
