Ocean Group adds Québec Shipyard to its Green Marine certification

Recognized as an industry leader on the St. Lawrence River and the Great Lakes, Ocean Group owns Canada’s most important fleet of maritime equipment and offers a wide range of integrated services: harbour towing, pilot boat services, salvage, marine construction and repair, equipment rental, and dredging.

The Québec shipyard is the fifth Ocean Group affiliated company to join the program. The organization’s towing and marine transportation service was the first to be certified and is one of Green Marine’s founding members. Since then, Ocean Group has certified its Isle-aux-Coudres shipyard in 2012, Ocean Marine Works and Dredging in 2022, and its Les Méchins Shipyard, located in the Lower St. Lawrence region, in 2024.

To obtain the Green Marine certification, Ocean Group will assess its shipyard’s environmental performance through indicators that address issues such as the reduction of pollutant discharges related to surface treatment, spill prevention, waste management, and the minimization of community impacts.
