A Call for Solutions from Ocean Exchange is now open for entries to compete for two $100,000 USD monetary awards.
Ocean Exchange welcomes registration from innovators with working prototypes in materials, devices, processes or systems that have the ability to Have Impact Though Sustainability, such as innovations that increase productivity and generate economic growth while reducing waste and the use of natural resources.
The WWL Orcelle Award is given to the solution that makes shipping and logistics more sustainable by advancing zero emission technologies for marine or land-based applications that are commercially viable.
The Neptune Award is given to the solution that advances understanding of the ocean and helps to minimize the human impact on ocean resources, even while using them for human benefit, resulting in more resilient bodies of water including healthy marine life and coastlines.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. GMT on July 31, 2018. A review team made up of representatives from business, academia, government and nonprofits will select the finalists. The finalists will be invited to travel to Savannah, Georgia, (expenses paid) to present at the Ocean Exchange taking place October 7-9, 2018, where the $200,000 USD will be awarded.
