A Call for Solutions from Ocean Exchange is now open for entries to compete for three $100,000 USD monetary innovation awards.
Ocean Exchange welcomes registration from innovators with working prototypes in materials, devices, processes, or systems that can have impact on sustainability, such as innovations that increase productivity and generate economic growth while reducing waste and the use of natural resources.
The WWL Orcelle Award is given to the solution that creates most sustainable value for Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s business in regard to social, community or environmental issues.
The Neptune Award is given to the solution that advances understanding of the ocean and helps to minimize the human impact on ocean resources, even while using them for human benefit, resulting in more resilient bodies of water including healthy marine life and coastlines.
The new Innovation Award for Transportation and Logistics Hubs 2022 will be given to the solution that advances ocean-, inland-, and air- PORTS and other logistics HUBS. Seeking innovations that make ports/hubs more sustainable with technologies that support clean water & air, conservation of precious natural resources near ports/hubs, efficient road/rail/warehousing supporting the ports, and state of the art sustainable port-hub land management.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. GMT on Monday, August 29, 2022. A review team made up of representatives from business, academia, government, and non-profits will select the finalists. The finalists will be invited to travel to Fort Lauderdale, Florida (expenses paid) to present at the Ocean Exchange taking place October 23-25, 2022, where the $300,000 USD will be awarded.

Ocean Exchange also encourages graduate and undergraduate students to apply for the $10,000 Collegiate Award. It rewards the solution that advances our understanding of the ocean and that helps minimize our impact on these resources, even while using them for human benefit, resulting in more resilient bodies of water including healthy marine life and coastlines.
