The Norcan oil terminal in Montreal’s East End has announced the signing of a strategic partnership to increase its imports of ethanol as a lower carbon fuel.
Produced from renewable raw materials, such as sugar cane, corn, and sugar beets, the biofuel produces less greenhouse gas emissions than traditional fossil fuels.
The project calls for ultimately storing up to 13,500 metric tons of ethanol with the greener energy sold in bulk to companies and delivered by truck.
