New PortXchange tools offer better emissions reporting and real-time analyses

September 18, 2024

PortXchange has launched EmissionInsider Carbon Insight Suite, an enhanced version of its already acclaimed emissions tracking and analysis platform that is helping major ports to effectively monitor, analyse and manage their emissions.

Now ports can access real-time monitoring and analyses at the click of a button to promptly assess the impact of new initiatives and adapt their strategies, rather than requiring separate resources and the longer time necessary for a report to be prepared.

The new customized dashboard facilitates integrating specific modules tailored to a port’s individual needs. It also now supports an unlimited number of users within port authorities, ensuring broader team engagement with the gathered data. Enhanced executive reporting feature make it easy for executives to obtain a snapshot of their port’s emissions footprint for any specific period.

Designed to be intuitive and user friendly, the EmissionInsider Carbon Suite simplifies the user experience while providing advanced capabilities to respond to complex queries. The platform adheres to the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requirements and employs established methodologies for emissions calculations, such as the EPA’s MOVES4 for the United States and TNO for Europe.

Ports can opt to include the new the Port Emissions Report into the platform for more in-depth analysis and more comprehensive reporting capabilities. This report is an innovative technology providing comprehensive emissions analysis specifically for ports enabling a new level of reporting capabilities in support of environmental sustainability.

The analytical tool delivers a detailed analysis of emissions from ships, harbour vessels, cargo handling equipment, railways and trucks. It tracks ship movements, vessel types, and the associated emissions of pollutants, such as CO2, CO, CH4, SO2, NOx, N2O, PM10, and CO2-equivalent greenhouse gases, which assists ports in identifying critical areas for improvement.
