QSL has released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, relating the work accomplished across its North American network, including measures to minimize its environmental footprint and to better prepare for changing climate impacts.
The initiatives notably include the addition of the Thorold terminal to its Green Marine certification, bringing the number of certified terminals to 19 in Canada and three within the United States.
Various measures implemented across its operations include actions to reduce fugitive emissions and to improve dust control, such as the installation of new double-walled chutes in Oshawa and Grande-Anse. Other areas of progress include electrification and air-quality monitoring.
The report also highlights the role played by several QSL terminals in facilitating wind projects in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces. It notably showcases the involvement of the Port Mersey, Grande‑Anse, Sheet Harbour, and Anse au Foulon terminals in the handling, storage and transport of wind turbine components for several renewable energy production projects.
It concludes by outlining QSL’s path forward, with plans to expand its ISO certifications, strengthen its performance in the Green Marine program, and implement a GHG emissions tracking solution.
