New Aderco program links fuel savings to carbon credit generation

June 2, 2026

Aderco has launched 2055G+, a program intended to help ship owners, managers, and charterers to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and quantify operational gains.

The program combines 2055G fuel treatment, performance monitoring, and the conversion of verified CO₂ reduction data into carbon credits through Gold Standard methodologies, a not-for-profit organization that sets the global standard for high-quality carbon credits. 2055G+ is presented as one streamlined approach for maritime operations focused on cleaner and more efficient performance.

Developed in response to pressures such as carbon intensity indicator (CII) ratings, European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) requirements, fuel price volatility, and decarbonization targets, 2055G+ is already in use on more than 100 vessels. Aderco has reported verified fuel savings ranging from 2% to 5% across its monitored fleet, including 3.25% on capsize vessels, 4.84% on reefers, 3.58% on LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) carriers, and 3.2% on Panamax ships.
