InSitu DS is a startup clean energy innovator based in Florida, seeking to bring a low-cost, low-carbon diesel alternative to the maritime sector. InSitu DS was recently approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a certified biofuel pathway and can qualify for valuable D4 Renewable Identification Number (RIN) credits.
InSitu DS is a fuel unlike any other: neither a biodiesel nor a renewable diesel. It is the first to receive EPA approval and meets the energy requirements needed to qualify for 1.7 RINS. EPA lifecycle analysis shows that InSitu DS fuel reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 80% compared to the 2005 diesel benchmark of 97.7 kgCO2e/mmBtu. This fuel offers a significant environmental advantage, especially for maritime operations seeking to reduce their carbon intensity.
