As part of its 140th anniversary, the Port of Trois-Rivières planted more than 140 trees and shrubs with the help of Fednav.
While the port's initial objective was to plant 140 trees and shrubs to mark this special anniversary, a total of 226 species of hardwood, conifers and shrubs were planted with the financial participation of Fednav.
The planting took place throughout the year and was carried out in three sectors of the port bordering residential sectors and a commercial artery.
In addition to improving air quality in the surrounding area, the many trees and shrubs will help filter stormwater and reduce heat islands.
