The Port of Hueneme welcomes a new, greener tug

Brusco Tug & Barge, Inc. has modernized its tug fleet at the Port of Hueneme by putting the brand-new Teresa Brusco into service. This state-of-the-art tug will significantly lower vessel emissions and provide more power and flexibility to the important ship-handling role of tugs at the Port of Hueneme.

Replacing the Lulapin, the Teresa Brusco will join the Simone Brusco as the powerhouse tugs to accompany ships in and out of the harbour and to guide them to and from their berths. The new tug is equipped with a more powerful Tier III engine that will dramatically reduce vessel emissions, including NOx emissions by approximately 80%.

Brusco’s partnership with the Port of Hueneme has been going strong for 30 years.
