Impact Canada Oil Spill Response Challenge launched

The Oil Spill Response Challenge is the seventh challenge issued under the Impact Canada initiative organized by the Canadian government’s Department of Natural Resources.

With the goal of protecting Canada’s ecosystem diversity, natural heritage, as well as related jobs, the new challenge aims to identify leading-edge technologies that can more readily detect and recover oil spills.

By quickly detecting accidental or malfunction-related spills, participating innovators will improve the rate of oil recovery and thereby help to preserve Canada’s natural environment.

Entered organizations could receive government funding ranging from $300,000 to $2 million (for the finalist) to develop and test their solution. Organizations have until June 1, 2022, to submit their proposal.
