GSTS partners with Seaway administrations to optimize voyage management

Global Spatial Technology Solutions (GSTS) has been contracted by St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC) and the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (GLS) to provide a voyage information system (VIS) to improve maritime transits within the binational Seaway system.

Predictive analytics for the VIS will be provided by utilizing OCIANA®, a proprietary AI-powered software-as-a-service platform. OCIANA® integrates data from multiple sources to forecast vessel arrival times so that voyage management and lockage schedules can be optimized. With its dynamic Lock Schedule Engine, the platform ensures vessel movements adhere to safety protocols, enhancing throughput and reducing delays.

OCIANA® is adaptable to evolving maritime traffic management needs, with provisions for integrating additional data sources and enhancing its predictability engine with emerging technologies, such as weather machine learning models.
