GreenTech 2022 which took place June 8-10 in Montreal, received its Planetair certification as a carbon neutral event. This year's event reported nearly the same environmental footprint in terms of tons of CO2 emitted per delegate as the last in-person event in 2019, with emissions at 0.46 t/delegate compared to 0.45 t/delegate 3 years ago.
For the eighth edition, Green Marine again purchased high-quality carbon offset credits to neutralize the climate footprint of its annual conference. All factors were taken into consideration including accommodations, food, supplies, printing, and land and air transportation for all 294 delegates in attendance for a total of 135.42 tons of CO2 emissions.

GreenTech 2022 generated almost double the emissions of the 2019 edition, which recorded 72.1 tons of CO2, an increase due to an 80% increase in the number of delegates who travelled to Montreal by car or plane.
This year’s carbon offset funds will go towards the Planetair Global Portfolio which comprises various projects that neutralize greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in a real, additional, transparent, and verified manner.
Thank you to the Chamber of Marine Commerce for sponsoring the carbon offset costs enabling Green Marine to present a carbon-neutral 15th annual conference!
