Quebec City, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 – Green Marine has been named as a finalist for the Lloyd’s List Global Awards 2015 that will be presented at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London, on October 1, 2015.
The Green Marine environmental program was selected from an international pool of nominees as one of seven finalists for the Environment Award.
Green Marine received the Lloyd’s List North American Maritime Award for Environmental Excellence earlier this year in Houston, Texas, and is delighted to figure among the finalists for this prestigious award at the international level. “Being nominated for a Lloyd’s List Global Award alongside innovative and outstanding companies is a great honour,” says David Bolduc, Green Marine’s executive director.
Green Marine members are committed to strengthening the North American marine sector’s environmental performance. The program continues year after year to demonstrate its ability to advance environmental excellence. Environmental performance results have continually been improving since the first year of reporting in 2008 – confirming the program’s effectiveness in encouraging the industry to surpass regulatory environmental requirements. There are currently more than 90 ship owners, port authorities, seaway administrators, terminals and shipyards participating in the program.
The awards are decided by industry experts, such as the secretary general at the International Chamber of Shipping, INTERTANKO’s managing director, and DNV GL Maritime’s CEO.
