Green Marine benefits from new support in the Great Lakes

The Great Lakes Maritime Research Institute becomes Green Marine’s newest supporter. The Great Lakes Maritime Research Institute, a University of Wisconsin – Superior and University of Minnesota Duluth consortium, supports sustainable maritime commerce on the Great Lakes through applied research. It brings together the strengths of the two host universities, along with the research capabilities of other Great Lakes Universities. Established in 2004, the Institute has been designated by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration as the National Maritime Enhancement Institute for the Great Lakes.The GLMRI feels that both the Institute and the Green Marine environmental program shared the same vision of improving the environment through sustainable maritime initiatives.
