Global Container Terminals (GTC) has won a 2015 Inspire Award in the Innovation category for its GCT Bayonne Expansion Project north of New York City. The winners were officially announced in San Francisco on March 30th. The GCT Bayonne Expansion Project is the first brownfield container terminal in the Western Hemisphere to be converted to semi-automation. The achieved interoperability of diverse technologies (Navis N4, Rail Mounted Gantry and Rubber-Tyred Gantry cranes) is a first and has transformed an antiquated RTG terminal into a state-of-the-art RMG facility.
