GCT Vanterm’s anniversary sparks renewed community commitment

October 21, 2025

As it celebrates 50 years of GCT Vanterm operations, Global Container Terminals (GCT) is extending its community engagement through a new three-year partnership with Mission Possible. The non-profit organization in downtown eastside Vancouver, British Columbia, is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through employment training, transitional jobs, and wraparound support.

With its multi-year collaboration, GCT will provide sustained support for Mission Possible’s programs that empower individuals to rebuild confidence, gain work experience, and transition into long-term employment.

The partnership builds on a long-standing relationship between GCT and Mission Possible that includes previous support for fundraising events, local programs, and employment opportunities across the port community. It also reflects the values of GCT’s Global Commitment program, which supports initiatives that create lasting social and environmental benefits in the communities where GCT operates.

By engaging with local organizations and supporting initiatives that respond to real community needs, GCT continues to strengthen its relationship with community stakeholders. Its commitment reinforces the organization’s long-term vision of sustainability as a balance between operational excellence, environmental care, and community advancement.
