Finnlines is adding GIT Coatings across its fleet

The Finnish ferry network Finnlines is intensifying its decarbonization efforts by applying the innovative XGIT-FUEL hull coating supplied by Green Marine partner GIT Coatings across its roll-on roll-off and passenger fleets.

GIT Coatings’ graphene-based, hard foul-release hull coating has already been applied to four of the vessels and reduced fuel consumption and its related emissions by approximately 7% compared to previously used coatings.

The adoption of XGIT-FUEL aligns with Finnlines’ sustainability strategy by reducing vessel drag through a biocide-free, environmentally friendly anti-fouling coating incorporating graphene for enhanced mechanical damage resistance.
