On its 75th anniversary, Fednav has updated its environmental policy. Reducing the company’s environmental footprint through greater sustainability is now among the company’s five strategic priorities. Specific policies, objectives, and solutions have been developed for each key issue, specifically: air emissions (greenhouse gases, NOx, SOx, and particulate matter), aquatic invasive species, Arctic operations, marine mammals, oil pollution, ship recycling and waste management. Annual targets have been established and progress will be measured through in-house performance indicators, such as the Green Marine certification framework and other industry programs.
