Ports set their sights on lowering emissions

Seattle, Tacoma and Port Metro Vancouver have outlined goals for the further reduction of diesel emissions by 2020. The decision updates the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy. The ports intend to cut diesel emissions by 75% per tonne of cargo by 2015 and 80% by 2020. Along with projected cargo growth, this will result in overall reductions of 70% by 2015 and 75% by 2020.
