Creation of an environmental observatory for the Bay of Sept-Îles

The Port of Sept-Îles is collaborating with CÉGEP de Sept-Îles (the local college), the municipality, the local environmental protection corporation, and Economic Development Sept-Îles to create an environmental observatory for the Bay of Sept-Îles. The observatory will be headed by the Institut nordique de recherche en environnement et en santé au travail (the school’s nordic institute for environment and work safety research). This important project will enhance the understanding of current and future environmental impacts by establishing an updated, credible baseline of environmental data. It will cost nearly $400,000 to complete the first phase, with half of the financing ensured by the Port of Sept-Îles.
