The Institut des sciences de la mer de Rimouski (ISMER) research vessel, Coriolis II, left Rimouski today. The vessell will cast off from Halifax in January headed for Argentina on its first international mission. About 15 researchers from the Lower St. Lawrence region will be aboard to study the San Jorge Bay deep-sea ecosystems in Argentina, more than 14, 000 kilometres (8,700 miles) away. Reformar has also announced that approximately 30 researchers from Argentina will join the ISMER/Institut Maurice-Lamontagne team to study seabed health. The $2-million project is expected to run about two-and-a-half months.
