How to distinguish tankers from other types of cargo ships
Where tankers operate and how much oil they transport through Canadian waters
A history of notable oil spills in Canadian waters
What measures are in place to prevent, prepare for and respond to oil spills in Canada
What “the polluter pays” principle means and how much money is available to cover oil spill cleanup costs.
The site’s purpose is to share objective information about oil tankers in Canadian waters, and to encourage informed conversations about marine shipping.
