Blue Carbon Collaborative, a new supporter advancing blue carbon initiatives

Green Marine is pleased to welcome the Blue Carbon Collaborative as a new supporter, a collaboration that reflects a shared commitment to ecosystem conservation and environmental awareness.

Co-led by WILDCOAST and Coastal Quest, the Blue Carbon Collaborative is an international community of researchers, practitioners, policymakers, communicators, and community leaders working together to align and advance blue carbon initiatives across the U.S. West Coast, Baja California, Latin America, and beyond.

Despite their significant benefits for climate change mitigation and coastal protection, blue carbon ecosystems remain marginalized in public policies and restoration initiatives. To bridge this gap, the Collaborative convenes an inclusive network of more than 400 stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and leverages quarterly virtual meetings, working sessions, and special convenings to accelerate implementation of practical solutions.

The Blue Carbon Collaborative broadens the reach of Green Marine’s efforts and encourages high-standard environmental practices in the maritime industry. Its specialized knowledge of blue carbon and coastal resilience, together with its collaborative approach, helps reinforce the program’s credibility and expand the scope of collective sustainability work.
