The Artemis cargo ship, owned by the French company TOWT –Green Marine Europe certified– recently docked for the first time at the Port of Matane, one of four ports managed by the Société portuaire du Bas Saint-Laurent Gaspésie (SPBSG), itself certified by Green Marine. The unloading operations of a cargo of coffee destined for a roastery in the Eastern Townships, Café William, were carried out by QSL, also a Green Marine certified participant.
This meeting between three committed organizations – SPBSG, QSL, and TOWT – perfectly illustrates the shared values and vision of Green Marine International's environmental programs: promoting sustainable maritime practices throughout the world.
Anne Dupéré, President and CEO of the SPBSG, emphasizes:
"The Green Marine certification of the Port of Matane demonstrates our firm commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly port practices. Welcoming the TOWT cargo ship Artemis, itself certified by Green Marine Europe, perfectly illustrates the synergy between our local and international commitments to maritime protection. This reinforces our strategic role in promoting responsible maritime transport in the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie regions.
