Montreal Gateway Terminals Partnership is the first Canadian container terminal facility to convert two rubber tyre gantry cranes from diesel to electric power. This retrofit will reduce MGT’s greenhouse gas emissions, noise and fuel consumption, as well as improve operational efficiency.
MGT’s CEO Michael Fratianni says this project fits with the company’s mission to use innovation to be an increasingly environmentally-friendly organization.
The new installation was developed in collaboration with Conductix Wampfler and is believed to be the first conversion of its kind on the Liebherr RTG cranes.espectueuse de l’environnement.
